Meet the Alakara Team

Alakara Travels is a progressing travel company based in Norway and Uganda. We organize tailor made trips around Uganda for all types of travelers; individuals, families, large groups and couples.

We are your travel specialist in organizing trips to Eastern Uganda and Karamoja region. Due to our vast knowledge and experience of the area, we are your ultimate travel buddy to look for if you are interested in exploring and experiencing the well preserved and rich cultures of the Iteso, Karamojong and Leb Thur people.



We also have accommodation facilities at Alakara Guest House on Okra Farm in the small village if Kobulin, Napak district.


The guest house offers comfortable accommodation, delicious meals, cultural tours, and experiences to our clients.




We also have enough space for workshops and retreat programs. As we strive to give the most memorable, and best services and experiences to our clients, the Alakara team is made of four individuals who are passionate about travel and hospitality. They work hand in hand to ensure you have the best stay at the guest house and enjoy your trips around the different beautiful places sin Uganda.

Meet the Team




Ingeborg Sæbø Oluka

Managing Director


Ingeborg first travelled to Uganda in 1999, and has since made it her second home. She started Alakara Travels in 2018, and loves to show people the beauty of the Ugandan people, culture, landscape and wildlife.








Namono Aidah

Assistant Travel Administrator


Aidah is the newest member of the Alakara team. She comes from Mbale, and lives in Jinja, where she works from her home office. Aidah has a diploma in travel and tourism, and is passionate about sharing the uniquness of Uganda with visitors.



Emwamu Bernard

Okra Farm Manager


Bernard is from Soroti, and has been the manager of Okra farm since 2022. He's an active member of the local community in Kobulin, and if you have any questions about the farm, the community or the culture while visiting Okra farm, Bernard is the person to ask!







Angolikin Betty

Alakara Guest House Manager


Betty has been at Alakara Guest House since 2019, and is the person behind all the good food you get to eat as a visitor there. Without her, we would not have been able to claim that we serve the best roast pork in the whole of Karamoja region!
